We did not have a spring 2014 coyote/predator hunt due to sickness in our family. The following are the results from the 2013 spring hunt.
Alright its official...our first place prize in the coyote Tournament for the most coyotes will be a hog hunt donated by 704 Outdoors out of Concord. They have baited and lighted stands for day and night hunting with some real monster hogs! Lunch will be provided in this hunt. Hunt to be held sometime in March this year.
 
Biggest coyote by weight will get a free camo skull mount of their coyote done by Skull & Bones Taxidermy.
 
Youth prize 15 and younger as of Jan 24th will have a chance for a guided turkey hunt with Soggy Bottom Outdoors out of Bisco.
 
Any ties will be broken by weight.
 
Meal will be a hamburger steak plate with veggies and a roll with tea, water or coffee and a dessert. The meal will be held at Craven Deer Processing.
 
Coyote check in times will be from 2-5 on Friday and 2-5 on Saturday.
 
Coyotes MUST be checked in by 5pm on saturday to be entered into the contest. Please bring coyotes in as fresh as possible so that the biologist and students can get good samples from them.

Coyote Hunting Tournament

January 24-26, 2013

Hunt starts at 5pm on the 24th and ends at 5pm on the 26th. Prizes given for biggest coyote harvested, most coyotes harvested and largest by a youth under 16. Prizes will be awarded at our banquet along with a meal, silent auction items, door prizes and various hunting booths as well.

 

Hunt tickets are $35 adult/ $20 youth under 16 before Jan 24th 2013. Meal only tickets are $7. A meal is included with each hunt ticket and all are available at Craven Deer Processing or by calling (336) 625-4321. With the purchase of a hunt ticket you will receive a one year membership to the Quality Deer Management Association which includes six issues of Quality Whitetails Magazine. Hunt anywhere you can legally hunt coyotes with the weapon of your choice. NO TRAPPED coyotes are allowed for this hunt.

 

NCWRC biologists and NCSU veterinary students will be on hand to study your kills and insure all coyotes were taken fresh and not frozen. Coyotes will be used to study canine diseases here in NC.
